What if HR could actually make a difference?

We do everything with fervour, with an intensity and passion that people management deserves. And when we launched this company in 2017, it was that underlying fervour in all we do that dictated our name: Ferva. 

Ferva was started by two friends who wanted to see HR make a real impact on the relationships and growth between companies and their people. 

In our years as Organisational Psychologists, we noticed a clear divide between HR strategies. On the one hand you have the unionised approach that serves only the employees’ interests. On the other, you have strictly generic policy-based HR that caters only to business and operational needs, not doing anything to support employees. 

We wanted to bridge that gap and create something that would help people and companies grow together. 

Everything we do is grounded in a desire to make a difference and create meaningful results for businesses and their people, most of which is done through meaningful relationship building and support. 

Through these journeys we’ve worked with some of the greatest clients, building relationships that helped us understand the depths of company/people dynamics even better. These journeys are what helped us create People (HR) Tech that truly understands people and the dynamics of professional alignment. 

Going back to first principles every time

None of our services are off-the-shelf one-size-fits-all offerings. From day one, we knew that for HR to be impactful, it had to be created with specific people in mind each time you go back to the drawing board. That’s the only way to keep it aligned with people and company goals.

We design, build AND implement every solution from the ground up. We don’t just sit in meetings and build frameworks in our free time. We actively work on the ground with leaders and employees to create actionable frameworks that ensure change. Getting our hands dirty transforms the work from “gets the job done” to “we never knew that was possible!”

Two minds are better than one they say … so what about a whole team of minds?

We’re female-founded, female-led, and female operated. Our whole team is female and we’re invested in growing young female talent within the industry, actively seeking young talent and dedicating time, energy and care to growing and developing their careers.

And the best part (for you) is that our team consists of Organisational Psychologists who hold Master’s Degrees in Organisational Psychology and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). This is the heart of Ferva, and one of the biggest reasons why we see HR from a different perspective.

Appointing an internal HR manager may help you cover a number of the basics of people management. But it lacks the depth of true human understanding and the psychology that drives us deep down.
